Hear What Parents Have to Say

One of the most rewarding things about the work that we do at Neural Connections is hearing from parents about the progress that comes about as a result. Here are some of the biggest areas of growth that parents have witnessed and shared with us.

(We‘ve used only the initials to maintain the privacy of the families we work with.)

Emotional and Behavioural Regulation
MNRI targets the nervous system directly, and one of the wonderful by-products is improved emotional and behavioural regulation! This is great for a number of the children we work with who have sensory processing challenges.

Said C, a mother to a 3.5 year-old diagnosed with processing disorder after receiving treatment: “Since Thursday, F has not had any meltdowns or been aggressive which is unbelievable! During our trip he has had several meltdowns every day. He is still very active, but he listens to us more and all in all is more manageable.”

Receiving haircuts can be an extremely stressful experience for some of the kids we support. One mother who has a 6.5 years old minimal verbal son shared her recent experience: “I also wanted to share that today S had a haircut for the first time with much less difficulties than before...it was a wonderful thing for me as I took him on my own.

Improved Motor Coordination
MNRI works on integrating primary reflexes, which are foundational to developing gross and fine motor coordination skills. Intensive MNRI treatments such as the one these families experienced at the MNRI Family Conference can be especially helpful.

One dad shared how his 9 year-old son with non-verbal ASD symptoms improved after the Family Conference: "Things I can share first is his hand can hold something more powerfully and actively. His teacher said he can help to move 6 chairs continuously while daily classroom cleaning this week. Combined with the hand holding, concentration & recognition, his performance to practice jazz drums is better.”

At Neural Connections, we focus on offering treatment and protocols to help children regulate their emotions and behaviour better. Schedule a Discovery Call with us today to see if we can help.

My experiences inspired me to further enhance my knowledge of the brain, nervous system and trauma through MNRI courses to have a more holistic understanding of special needs children.
